Isn't it great that we can use the Internet to get inspiration for farming. Go figure.

And you think you saw him on the train? Makes me think I should stop and talk to the next old guy with a long white beard ;)Martin J Fridhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14537556834410284837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11587256.post-49680642727773391242008-08-23T22:53:00.000+09:002008-08-23T22:53:00.000+09:00Martin, I found another article about him at the "...Martin, I found another article about him at the "Permaculture Reflections" blog, with a fantastic comment by a man who visited him and used his work as inspiration. I have tracked down his two fundamental texts,"The One Straw Revolution" and "A Natural Method of Farming" which are free from a virtual library in Australia and am reading them now. Wonderful reading, and seemingly at the foundation of the permaculture idea. Here's the link to get the books (translated into English).

http://www.soilandhealth.org/01aglibrary/01aglibwelcome.html

As an aside, from looking at his picture, I am almost sure that I have seen Mr. Fukuoka in my local train station more than once. What a pity I didn't know who he was. Obviously, a person well worth knowing!vegetablejhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15449145190852647832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11587256.post-9359604621415981892008-08-18T23:02:00.000+09:002008-08-18T23:02:00.000+09:00Thanks for the comment, pandabonium, RIP, as he wa...Thanks for the comment, pandabonium, RIP, as he was clearly spiritually resting in peace all along.
