PingMag writes about ideas and inspiration coming from both world class designers, and from the little store on the corner. They also share wonderful photos using Flicker. OK, if must go to Tokyo ;^) - for modern architecture I offer the Fuji TV building in Odaiba and the Edo Tokyo Museum building as great examples.

Wow, those photos by Nishizawa are amazing. Right out of my favorite science fiction movies it seems.

Salvador Dali, Hiroshima and Okinawa

Spanish artist Salvador Dali was deeply terrified by the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki , and his exact, detailed style was very much suited to show the horror of the A-bomb, which America tried to keep a secret by classifying photos and descriptions until the end of the occupation of Japan in 1952.
