And of course it also helps to explain why Japan has been so eager to resume its assistance to the international coalition in the Gulf.

That's a fascinating map, even if
Saudi reserves are quite suspect (they are not subject to any objective review).

Perhaps a better response on Japan's part would have been to say "no thanks" to the US in Iraq, go ahead with developing Iranian oil and gas and work overtime on powering down and getting off the fossil fuel addiction.

Yeah, that'll happen.
