ELO: Twilight

NHK reports that gasoline prices went up 10 yen today to 170-180 yen per liter. That's over $6 per gallon.

And that kind of reminded me of Twilight, the ELO song that I liked a lot back in the 1970s.

and then there's the great Arlo Guthrie's City of New Orleans - a lament of their demise in the US. Will they ever return? Let's hope so.

Salvador Dali, Hiroshima and Okinawa

Spanish artist Salvador Dali was deeply terrified by the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki , and his exact, detailed style was very much suited to show the horror of the A-bomb, which America tried to keep a secret by classifying photos and descriptions until the end of the occupation of Japan in 1952.
