Bruckner arriving in Heaven




I will listen to Mozart and Bruckner at Bunkamura Hall, Shibuya Sunday Nov. 11. Tokyo Phil , conducted by Korean maestro Myung-Whun Chung.

Green with envy here. Enjoy the concert. Anton Bruckner's music makes me think of Beethoven as his work might have evolved. Just the feeling I get. Wonderful.

Bruckner was a big fan of Wagner, as well as the teacher of Mahler.

You have a point, Beethoven points towards Bruckner, in many ways. This was the 6th Symphony, hardly ever heard, and full of wonderful themes. I particularly liked the melodies at the beginning of the 3rd movement (Scherzo). I found a link to a clip with Munich Phil.
