Speaking of taiko music and Brazil, my first Buddhist minister in Hawaii (over 20 years ago), Thom Nakanishi, is now the Bishop of the Brazil Hongwanji Mission in Sao Paulo.
My only point is that there is much more cultural exchange in history and presently going on in the world than we are exposed to through the corporate media. The Internet is great for learning about such things, partly through posts like this one.
