NHK: Anti-AIDS message


Kohei Yamada, a young Japanese volunteer working in Malawi, has composed a song about HIV/AIDS that has become a hit song in that country. With 15% of the population infected with HIV, he says he wanted to do something to stop the HIV pandemic. One of the most effective way is music and music videos. Japan has provided more than US$10 billion for Africa through bilateral ODA since 1993. In 2005, Japan decided to double its ODA to Africa in the next 3 years.
