Total lunar eclipse

If we are lucky tomorrow evening, we should be able to witness a total lunar eclipse on Tuesday night. It is the first time in six years the astronomical phenomenon will be visible in the country, according to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. Update: We were unlucky, it was cloudy tonight...

The blog Pacific Islanders has more details (with additional humorous comments!)

Google images has lots of different photos.

Cloudy here as well, darn it.

For anyone interested in the moon, Arizona State University is busy scanning photo negatives from the Apollo missions which have never been made public before. They are using very high tech scanning equipment to make the best possible reproductions of the original. You can see them here:
Apollo Image Archive click the "support data" tab to see the pics.
