Wishing all my friends and family, and everyone who reads Kurashi, a very happy new 2013.
Everyone of you is special.
Enjoy this beautiful slideshow video with images from Nonin-ji, a temple with a 500 year history here in my parts of the wood in rural Saitama, Japan.

happy new year!
Thanks K&S, best wishes to you too. Stay healthy and enjoy 2013:
1) Reduce/stop eating meat. 2) Find ways to ensure you have electricity backup/get a maki-stove. 3) Still depending on a car? Ouch. Gasoline is going to get very dear/bicycle? 4) Learn Japanese/it is a journey, we are here to stay, so each step, every effort matters. 5) Thanks/明けましておめでとうございます!
Lovely slide show. Ironically, I used to strike a temple bell every new year when I lived in Hawaii, but here there is no temple nearby that does that. Oh well, I need to be in bed at that hour anyway. :)
Sage advice for all in your comment above. 明けましておめでとうございます!
